Gemini for Google Workspace and Gemini Enterprise: Australian prices and setup help

What Gemini costs in Australian dollars on each Google Workspace plan, how Gemini Enterprise differs, where your data goes, and who can help set it up.

Quick answer (checked 25 October 2026)

  • Gemini is included in Google Workspace business plans. There is no separate Gemini add-on to buy.
  • Workspace prices per user per month, excluding GST: Business Starter A$9.90, Business Standard A$19.80 and Business Plus A$30.90 on an annual plan, or A$11.80, A$23.60 and A$37.00 month to month. Enterprise plans are by quote.
  • Which plan: Business Starter gets Gemini in Gmail and the Gemini app. Google lists Gemini in Docs, Meet and other apps from Business Standard.
  • Gemini Enterprise is a separate Google Cloud product for AI agents across your business systems, including non-Google ones. Google shows the Business edition as “Starting at $21 per seat per month” with no currency. Standard and Plus are by quote.
  • No Australian data region: Google does not currently offer one for Gemini.

Which Gemini are you looking at?

Google uses the same words for different things. Before January 2025, Gemini for Workspace was a paid add-on (Google’s announcement mentions a “Gemini Business add-on”). From 16 January 2025, Google included AI in its Business and Enterprise plans. In October 2025 it launched Gemini Enterprise, a separate Google Cloud product, and its product page is now titled “Gemini for Business”. Search results mix all of these.

Google Workspace prices in Australian dollars.

Per user per month, as Google showed them on 25 October 2026. Google says its prices do not include tax. The GST-inclusive column is our calculation at 10%. Google’s marketing page calls the plans Starter, Standard and Plus; its Help Centre still uses Business Starter, Business Standard and Business Plus. We use the Help Centre names.

  • Annual or Flexible: the annual plan is billed monthly but is a one-year commitment. Google says it “offers the lowest per user per month price”; on these figures it is about 16% less than Flexible (our arithmetic, matching Google’s “Save 16%” label).
  • User limits: Business plans can be bought for a maximum of 300 users. Enterprise plans have no minimum or maximum.
  • Offers: Google sometimes runs discounts for new customers, and its pages showed different offers on the same day. We do not show promotional prices. Check the final price at checkout, and what it becomes when the offer ends.
  • Worked example (our calculation): 10 staff on Business Standard, annual plan: 10 × A$19.80 × 12 = A$2,376.00 a year excluding GST (A$2,613.60 including GST), with Gemini included.

What Gemini you get on each plan.

From Google’s “Compare Business editions” help page, checked 25 October 2026. Google changes these limits often. We have left out rows we could not confirm cell by cell, including model access levels and Gemini in Docs, Sheets, Slides, Meet and Chat; check those on Google’s page before you choose.

Gemini Enterprise, explained.

Google describes Gemini Enterprise as a platform where staff chat with Gemini grounded in company data, use Google-made agents such as Deep Research, and build their own agents without code. It connects to Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Slack, Jira, Confluence, Salesforce, ServiceNow, HubSpot and more; Google says there are over 100 integrations. On 9 October 2026 Google announced the “Gemini agent”, and says not every feature on its product page is available yet.

How it differs from Workspace: Google says the Gemini app “is included at no additional cost” for Workspace customers. It positions Gemini Enterprise for teams that need AI across “a broad set of company data sources (beyond Google Workspace)”, custom or third-party agents, or stricter compliance. If you mainly want help in Gmail, Docs and Meet, the Gemini in your Workspace plan may be enough.

We found no Australian dollar price for any Gemini Enterprise edition, so we have not converted the $21. Google says Business edition prices exclude GST, which is added based on your billing address. It is paid by card, and “Unless otherwise required by law, all charges are non-refundable.”

Your data, and the Australian question.

  • Workspace: Google says “Workspace does not use customer data for training models without customer’s prior permission or instruction”, that your content “is not human reviewed”, and that “Your interactions with Gemini stay within your organization.”
  • Gemini Enterprise: Google says you own your data, that prompts and outputs are not used to train Google models or models for any other customer, and that it does not sell customer data or use it for advertising.
  • Certifications: Google lists SOC 1, 2 and 3, ISO certifications including ISO/IEC 42001, and FedRAMP High for Gemini in Workspace. Gemini Notebook and Gemini in Chrome are not yet covered. See our ISO 42001 guide.
  • Admin controls: admins can turn the Gemini app on or off, enable or disable Gemini in Gmail, Drive, Docs, Meet and Chat, control Gemini Notebook by group, and set Gemini app history to delete after 3, 18 or 36 months.

Can Gemini data stay in Australia?

Not on Google’s current pages. Workspace data regions offer only the United States or Europe. Keeping Gemini app data in region (stored and processed) needs Enterprise Plus or Frontline Plus, and only in those two regions. Gemini Notebook is not covered by data regions at all. For Gemini Enterprise Standard and Plus, Google lists US and EU regions plus Canada, India, Japan, Singapore and the UK on request; Australia was not listed when we checked, and the Business edition is not covered.

If your data must stay in Australia, ask Google or a partner to confirm the position in writing before you use Gemini with regulated data.

Free trials and how to buy.

  • Workspace trial: 14 days for up to 10 users. You set up payment first; you are charged when the trial ends and the paid subscription starts automatically. Adding an 11th user ends the trial.
  • Buy direct: online from Google, on the Flexible or annual plan. Enterprise plans and Gemini Enterprise Standard and Plus go through Google sales.
  • Buy through a partner: a Google Workspace reseller or Google Cloud partner. Under Google’s terms, the reseller sets its fees with you and bills you directly, so its price can differ from Google’s list price.
  • Cancelling: Flexible can be cancelled at any time without penalty. On the annual plan you can only reduce licences at renewal, and cancelling early means paying the rest of the contract with no refund.

Questions to ask a partner

  • Do you resell Google Workspace, and is your price different from Google’s Australian list price?
  • Annual or Flexible? What happens if we need fewer licences mid-year?
  • Is a new-customer discount applied, and what is the price after it ends?
  • Which Gemini features will you switch on or off, and who sets data retention?
  • Do we need Gemini Enterprise, or is the Gemini in our Workspace plan enough?
  • Where will our Gemini data be stored and processed?

Gemini or Microsoft Copilot?

A price comparison, not a verdict on features. Per user per month, excluding GST. Google figures checked 25 October 2026; Microsoft figures from our Microsoft 365 Copilot pricing guide, checked 24 October 2026.

Annual-commitment prices unless stated. On list prices, Workspace plans with Gemini cost less than Microsoft 365 plans with full Copilot. The products are not the same: Microsoft’s paid Copilot works across your emails, meetings, chats and files and includes agents such as Researcher and Analyst, while Google’s included Gemini has limits that differ by plan. Compare on the tools your team already uses, not price alone.

Who can help set it up.

Few providers in our directory publish Google Workspace or Gemini work. These two do, based on their own pages, checked 18 to 22 October 2026. A to Z, not ranked. None of our evidence shows Google Workspace reselling or Google partner status, so ask.

  • Aviato Consulting: Google Cloud consulting covering agents, conversational systems and data platforms on Google Cloud. A closer fit for Gemini Enterprise and agent work than for Workspace training.
  • itGenius: a Google Workspace consultancy that publishes private Gemini team training covering Gemini, Gems and NotebookLM in Workspace. Its published scope excludes Workspace admin and security setup.
